侠骨慈航

Josiah Grey, a veteran of the Civil War, arrives in a quaint town with the intention of becoming a gospel minister. Over time, he establishes a family and forges many connections, yet encounters resistance from some of his parishioners. A youthful doctor is at odds with Grey over the perceived intrusion of his spiritual beliefs in medical treatments, while a mining magnate harbors animosity towards Grey for defending an elderly sharecropper, whose small plot obstructs the mine owners operations. As Grey grapples with a community-wide public health crisis and the looming threat of a lynch mob, the events unfold through the keen observations and recollections of Greys young nephew, John.
