After dropping out of medical school, John Muller decides to pursue a life of crime and meticulously plans a heist that doesnt go as smoothly as he had hoped. In the aftermath, he attracts the attention of Rocky Stansyck, a gambler seeking revenge. Feeling desperate and cornered, Muller seizes an unexpected opportunity to take on a new persona as psychiatrist Victor Bartok, hoping to elude his pursuers. However, Muller soon discovers that his new identity comes with its own set of complexities and dangers, throwing him from one perilous situation to the next. As irony would have it, Muller realizes that the proverbial frying pan may have been a safer haven compared to the inferno in which he now finds himself.
