In the town of Sokcho in Gangwon-do, Min Ji-suk operates a ticket bar where customers can purchase tickets for various services. She hires three employees - Miss Yang (Ahn So-young), Miss Hong (Lee Hye-young), and Se-young (Jeon Se-young) through an employment agency. While Miss Yang and Miss Hong are experienced in the business and sometimes accept propositions from customers, Se-young, who is dating a college student named Min-su, refuses any requests for sexual favors.When Min-su reveals his financial struggles, Se-young promises to help him with his tuition fees. However, Se-youngs refusal to engage in certain activities causes a decline in the bars clientele, leading Ji-suk to reprimand her. Se-young forms a close relationship with Captain Pak and eventually allows him to sleep with her. She asks Captain Pak to find a job for Min-su on a boat, but when Min-su discovers Se-youngs source of income in Sokcho, he is shocked and leaves the town.After some time, Min-su returns and confronts Se-young about her choices, severing their relationship. Ji-suk, who entered the bar business years ago to support her imprisoned husband, now fears that Se-young is heading down a similar path. She pleads with Min-su to support Se-young, but he refuses. In a fit of desperation, Ji-suk pushes Min-su into the sea, resulting in her own mental breakdown and subsequent hospitalization in a psychiatric institution.
