Killian is a young man who has spent his entire life in the remote mountains of Huesca, Spain. In 1953, he embarks on a journey to the exotic Equatorial African island of Fernando Poo, in Spanish Guinea, where he was born. There, he joins his father and brother to work on a cacao plantation. Over the next 20 years, as the island faces the challenges of independence, Killian undergoes a transformative journey of self-discovery and growth. Along the way, he grapples with personal hardships and heartbreak, ultimately emerging as a changed man.
